March 14, at the United Church of
Kensington by Pastor Becky Saddler. His
parents are Carla and Jason Hajek and
his brothers are Cooper and Carter, all
of Hugoton. Lunch followed at the church
basement. The birthdays of Ruth Levin
and Garrett Levin were also celebrated.
Also attending were Paul and Raelene
Hajek of Lost Springs, Marla Smith of
Loveland, Colo., and David and Becky
Levin, Shawn Levin, Grant Levin, Royce
and Donna Levin, Joan Nech and Marlin
and Ginger Smith, all of Kensington.
It's another great-grandchild for Evelyn
Levin when a son, Henry Naftis Erick,
was born on March 25, 2010, to her
grandson and wife, Casey and Elayna
Erick of Dallas, Tex. Henry weighed 8
pounds 6 ounces. Paternal grandparents
are Alan and Carol Erick of Dallas.
Nick and Emily Levin of Inman hosted a
cookout Saturday to honor their
daughter, Lyla Kaye, for her first
birthday. Present were her grandparents,
Deana Garnett of Salina, and Jeff and
Micki Levin and Joel and Connie Bienhoff
of Kensington; her great-grandparents,
Verne and Carol Overmiller of Smith
Center, and Evelyn Levin and Ruth
Bienhoff of Kensington; her aunts and
families, Emily and Eric Shelton and
Emma of Dallas and Megan and Chris
Broeckelman of Natoma; and friends,
Fawna Fancher and Bob and Kathy Jones of
Inman. Anita Hagman of Buhler stopped by
for a short visit.
Ruth Levin returned last Monday after
spending a week with her daughter,
Yvonne Levin, in Brighton, Colo., who
had carpal tunnel surgery.
In a phone call to your correspondent,
Jerry Brien of Ft. Worth, Tex., states
that his sister, Mary Lattin of Hays,
has been visiting them the past week,
and Bennie Smith of Smith Center had
also come to see him last week. He plans
to go to Houston for further tests and
more surgery in the next week or so. He
appreciated the card from the Athol
friends sent after the pancake feed.
Ella Marie DuBois and her daugher,
Darlene DuBois Bradford of Burlingham,

Haven and other relatives and friends..
Irma Brandt of Lincoln, Neb, also came
to visit and was with Lora Dettmer and
Alice Rietzke and friends.
The Thunder Ridge students returned from
the New York/Washington trip Thursday
afternoon and report a great trip and
wonderful time. The sponsors were proud
of the good behavior of the students,
too.
A large crowd attended the Thunder Ridge
Carnival at the Middle School in Agra
Friday evening and it was a huge
success.
The area received an all day rain
Saturday with about 1.20 in the gauges
around town. What a wonderful way to
begin a week of spring-like weather with
predictions of near 80 degrees by
mid-week. Despite a forecast of possible
showers Friday and Saturday, the Sunrise

should be beautiful. Have a very happy
