A large crowd attended the final program at the St. John Lutheran Church Friday followed by a balloon launch on a beautiful wind-free morning. Pre-school teacher and helpers were Tamra Portenier, Darah Portenier, Michelle Palmer, Shaylin Webb, Zach Wallgren, and Riley Reneberg. Pre-Kindegarten teacher and helpers were Sandy Reneberg, Larissa Dettmer, Michaela Bienhoff and Dani Riley. Helpers were Dianna Rice, Nolan Billings, Lyle Kuhlmann, Kaitlin Boden, and Chelsey and Courtney Panter. Annalee Ratliff prepared the refreshments.

Fourteen students in grades 4 and 5 attended at St. John Lutheran Church with Linda Rahjes and Melanie Molzahn as teachers and Robin Billings and Tara Seemann as craft directors. Kristi Reneberg led the chime choir which the children really enjoyed. Cindy Rahjes was in charge of refreshments.

It's been a rainy Monday morning with intermittent heavy thunderstorms which dumped about 1 inch of rain in Kensigton City. As this column is completed in late afternoon, the sun is shining but further storms are still in the forecast. The hot days the end of last week has gave the wheat more golden tinges making the farmers even more antsy to get the spring row crops into the ground before the wheat harvest demands their attention. It is a busy time.
