Last week was foggy, dismal and dark with temperatures hovering around freezing. About two inches of snow fell Thursday. Farmers stated that they wished either the sun would shine and it would dry the feedlots or it would be cold enough to freeze the mud and make feeding livestock easier. It appears the latter will happen today (Monday) when a cold front with strong winds moved in reminding us that winter isn't over yet. Lows in the single digits are predicted the next several nights before a warmup will return. This area escaped the snow that fell in southern Kansas as the front moved through over the weekend.
