Halloween Parades on Oct. 29
The Thunder Ridge Elementary Students
will go to Prairie Haven wearing their
Halloween costumes next Thursday, Oct.
29 at 2:15 p.m. The parade downtown will
follow at about 2:30 p.m. Parties will
be in the classrooms after the children
return from the parade. There will be no
classes at the local schools on Friday,
Oct. 30 which makes the early
festivities necessary.

Last Home Football Game is Friday
Thunder Ridge High School will be
playing Western Plains for the last home
game of the regular season Friday, Oct.
23, at 7 p.m. on the Longhorn Field.
Everyone is encouraged to come and give
them your support. Go Longhorns!

HOME Wellness Center Plans for Halloween
There will be lots and lots of prizes
for the Poker Walk/Run sponsored by the
HOME Foundation on October 31.
Spooktacular begins at 3 p.m. with
registration at the HOME Community
Wellnesss Center, 101 W. HWY. 36. Entry
fee for the Poker Walk/Run is $15 which
includes a free soup meal at the end of
the walk. The first 25 registering will
get prizes! Participants are urged to
dress in Halloween costumes. Prizes will
also be awarded for best costumes.
The Walk/Run is an event for all ages
and abilities with one-half mile and two
mile routes. The oldest and youngest
walkers will receive prizes as will the
fastest person on the long route. The
person with the best poker hand will win
a cash prize. Those wishing to enter
must register from 3 to 4 p.m. on
October 31. To register in advance or to
pick up guidelines, come to the Wellness
center weekday mornings from 8 to 10
a.m.
The Poker Run/Walk is the first of
several fun events planned by the HOME
Board for Oct. 31. A soup supper for a
donation will be held in the Thunder
Ridge High School Home Ec Room from 4 to
6 p.m. Children attending will receive
Trick or Treat bags, and hay rack rides
will be available for all.
After the soup supper Trunk or Treating
will be held in the Vo Ag parking lot.
Potential "Treaters" (especially for
those who live in the country or
outskirts of town) are urged to be in
their cars on the lot by 5:45 p.m. with
their treats. Children will make the
rounds from car to car from 6 to 7 p.m.
Assistance will be provided for the
children. It is hoped this one stop
event will be helpful to families
allowing young children to have an
enjoyable and safe trick or treating
experience. It will also give adults the
opportunity to treat and see the
costumes within a structured time frame.

Middle School Cheerleaders Have Fund
Raiser
The Thunder Ridge Middle School
Cheerleaders will be selling cookie
dough, gourmet coffee, candles and an
assortment of other frozen foods that
the Little Ole Cookie House is offering.
The sales will be from Oct. 20 to Nov.
4.
The Middle School cheerleaders who thank
your for your support are Caitlin Boden,
Miranda Atchison, Jenna Dennis, Heidi
Larson, Erika Norris, Alex Randall and
Brianna Shaw.
