Plenty of Food For Legion Dinner
The turkey and dressing, ham, potatoes
and gravy, corn, green beans, and rolls
were quickly served by the volunteers at
the Legion Thanksgiving dinner.
Volunteers had come the night before to
debone the five large turkey that were
done to perfection, peel the potatoes,
ready the tables, etc. Some came early
Thanksgiving morning finish the cooking
and put on the finishing touches. The
tables were heavy laden with salads and
desserts brought by those attending.
About 180 persons signed the
registration. The crowd was smaller than
in previous years perhaps because the
beautiful weather beckoned more folks to
travel out-of-town to gather with family
and friends.
This is a service that is appreciated
by many. Thanks to the many volunteers
who prepare, serve the meal, and don't
forget the clean up, and to the
Kensington Legion that makes the hall
available to serve the hungry throng.
