Pro Ag Manager Dennis
Graf is Retiring
Dennis
Graf will be retiring as manager of
Pro-Ag Marketing, Inc., on March 31,
2009. An open house will be held at the
office in Kensington Friday, March 27
from 2 to 4 p.m. which will give the
patrons and friends an opportunity to
extend their thanks and appreciation for
his nine years of service.
Dennis and his wife Judy moved from
Bassett, NE, to Kensington in January,
2000, when he assumed his duties at Pro
Ag Marketing. He had been employed in a
similar facility in Bassett for twenty
years. Judy took employment as an office
manager at Matteson Motors in
Phillipsburg shortly after their move.
They have been active in the Kensington
community and its organizatons, faithful
members of the United Church of
Kensington, and supporters of the
Kensington and now the Thunder Ridge
schools.
They have sold their
home in Kensington to Errol and Marla
Bauman and will be moving to Bassett,
NE, to be nearer their two daughters and
their families. Dennis states that they
have two sons-in-law who are farmers and
ranchers and he will probably be helping
them in their operations. Judy states
she will be busy spoiling their five
grandchildren under the age of eleven
years. They are looking forward to being
able to see these grandchildren grow up
and to participate more fully in their
school activities. They both are avid
golfers, and they hope to spend the
winters in Arizona where Judy has a
brother and sister-in-law and they have
other friends. They also hope to be able
to spend more time visiting their other
children and families and perhaps do
some traveling.
They have five
children, Rodney and Amy Graf of
Woodstock, IL, Tonya and Curtis Thompson
of Topeka, Troy and Jackie Graf of
Lincoln, NE, and Tami and Keith Cosgrove
and Tricia and Joey Anderson of Bassett,
NE, and thirteen grandchildren.
The Grafs state that they have have
really enjoyed living in Kensington and
the people and have mixed feelings about
moving, but they also want to be able to
spend more time with their families. The
Kensington community also regrets their
move, but wishes them much happiness in
their new location. Everyone hopes to
see them return for visits often.

Funding Help Needed
for Thunder Ridge Post Prom
The Post Prom committee is needing
your help. Because of the consolidation
of the Thunder Ridge High School there
was no Post Prom committee set up for
this school year. The Steering Committee
has come forward to give our students a
safe after prom party, but they have
gotten a late start and fundraising
opportunties have been limited. If you
are a parent, grandparent or are
associated with a Thunder Ridge High
School student in any way, your donation
would be greatly appreciated. Donations
can be left at any Farmers National Bank
location or you can contact Amy Bienhoff
(476-3291) or Patty Kuhlmann (476-2625)
who will be happy to assist you.

Around the Community
Margaret Stockton is scheduled for
open heart surgery at the Hays Regional
Medical Center Wednesday. Please keep
her in your prayers.
Clara
Beckmann spent ten days in the Smith
County Hospital for treatment of
pneumonia. She has returned to Prairie
Haven.
It is reported that
Harold and Dolores Standley will be
moving to Assisted Living in
Phillipsburg this week to be nearer
their daughter and husband, Twila and
Dennis Frederickson. They will be missed
in the community, but we are thankful
for their added care.
The
predicted rain for our area failed to
materialize over the weekend, but the
wind blew fiercely. Like oldtimers often
said, "We are one day closer to that
good rain", and we hope that day will be
soon.
