On the evening of April 4 a number of friends gathered in Manhattan to celebrate the 21st birthday of William "Buzz" Rice. Levin Family Welcomes Twins

A joyous Easter was celebrated in Tucson, Ariz., with the early morning arrival of twins to Matt and Jody Levin. Gustav Arnold (Gus) arrived at 4:15 a.m. weighing 4 lbs. 9.6 oz., and 17 inches long. His sister, Jessie James (Jess), arrived at 4:16 a.m. weighing 6 lbs. 7.2 oz., and 18.5 inches long. Babies and mother are doing well. Anxiously awaiting at home are sister Kylie, brother Cole, and sister Ella.

Proud grandparents are Alan and Jan Levin and Joe and Cheryl Depue of Tucson. Evelyn Levin of Kensington and Florence Rust of Smith Center are the babies' great-grandmothers.
Around the Community

Margaret Stockton was dismissed from the Hays Hospital last Wednesday and is slowly gaining strength. Bob says they appreciate the help of friends and the concern from the community.

Dorine Kuhlmann was taken to the Smith County Hospital Saturday morning and then transferred to the Salina Regional Medical Center for further observation and treatment in the evening.

Dennis and Judy Graf assisted by their daughers and husbands moved to Bassett, Neb., Friday morning. Errol and Marla Baumann began moving into the home vacated by the Grafs in the afternoon and are enjoying their new home. Their son, Brandon, and 3-year-old daughter will be living on their farm.

Easter weekend guests of D. A. and Jan Hoverson were Dan and Michelle Hoverson, Ryan and Dylan of Valley Center; Lori Hoverson of Hays; and Jon and :Lynda McKee, Braden, Brenna, Brielle, and Brylee of Brewster. They had an Easter egg hunt for the children Saturday morning.

Sam and Linda Rice spent the weekend with their son and family, Jason and Jennifer Rice, Jackson, Avery and Jamison of Olathe.

Drizzle and slow rain began falling Saturday evening and continued on Sunday making it necessary to move the Sunrise Easter Services inside. Rain gauges measure from .30 to .50 for the entire weekend which is the largest amount of moisture we have had in 2009. Forecasters predict more rain possible the latter part of the week which would be very welcome. It is hoped that the "old saying" that if it rains on Easter it will rain for seven more Sundays will hold true this year as it has been a very dry spring.
