Kensington is a friendly quiet town set almost in
the center of the contiguous United States.
Residents can be as busy or as relaxed as they wish.
The USD 110 School system with the School/Community
Library helps to make this a great place to raise
children. Kids love the public heated swimming pool
during the summer. There are three parks available
for all ages to enjoy.
Pheasant, deer, and turkey hunting are abundant in
this area and the Kirwin lake is within 15 miles of
Kensington for fishing. Motel rooms are available in
town for hunters and 4 Restaurants serve noon and
evening meals.
Kensington celebrates Veteran’s Day with a Parade
and Free Barbeque in November. In August our past is
remembered as “Old Fashioned Saturday Night” with a
street party involving food booths and games with
entertainment to follow. A City wide garage sale is
held in both the Spring and the Fall.
St. John Lutheran Church (ELCA), First St. John
Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod) and The United
Church welcome visitors. First St. John provides a
Christian Pre-school for children from the
surrounding area and also an after school program on
Wednesdays for elementary and middle school youth.
Affordable, Full service Nursing Home is available
for those in need. Kensington has a first class
Volunteer Fire Department and 7 EMT/First
responders. A Wellness Center is available for
circuit training and working out on other machines
such as the Nu-step and treadmills etc.
Kensington offers 2 fuel stations, Mechanics, Used
Car Dealerships, Post Office, Bank,
Implement Supply, Liquor Store, Grocery Store,
Beauty Shops, Day Care, Investment Services, Tax
Services and a host of other business for you needs.
The Senior Center is very active with noon meals
weekdays. Many clubs and organizations such as 4-H,
Lions Club, Kensington Music Club, Red Hat Society,
American Legion and Auxiliary, Sons of the American
Legion, K-town Kates, and Middle Cedar Club are busy
keeping the community active.
Kensington is a very peaceful quite town with no
traffic jambs. It is a friendly community with
affordable housing for retirement, hunting lodges,
or a second “Home on the Range”. Residents are sure
